Purpose Statement

The Leading Edge is an official publication of the Society of Exploration Geophysicists. It is a monthly magazine about geophysics and one of the most-read, cover-to-cover geoscience publications in the world. It addresses a broad spectrum of topics related to applied geophysics in a manner that emphasizes their practical aspects. Theory and mathematics are minimized, and articles are written in a manner that makes the material immediately accessible to a broad audience.

Geophysics serves as the Society's official archive for original scientific data. It provides members a forum for the publication of tutorials, case histories, and technical papers relating to all aspects of exploration geophysics.
